Many nonprofit leaders know the potential of applying for grants to

fund their work and grow their impact, but there's a huge problem.

Most nonprofits can't afford to pay a grant writer and none of their staff or volunteers know how to write grants.

Instead they:

  • Run their organization on a shoestring budget
  • Use mostly volunteers to get the work of their programs done, aka not paying their founder/Executive Director
  • Rely on small, sporadic individual donations and fundraising events (that could get canceled at any time due to health concerns)
  • Cut entire programs or essential expenses that they really need
  • Haven't even tried applying for grants because they feel like it's just a waste of time they could be spending serving their community

I've seen it time and time again: Nonprofit leaders who have invested time, money, and energy into grants . . . and NOT seen the outcome they desire.

I'm here to tell you it's not your fault.

You learn about grant opportunities that might be a good fit at the 23rd hour and have to throw together an application that is nowhere near what it could be.

Or you aren't hearing about grants that you're eligible for at all and are wondering how these other nonprofits are pulling in grant after grant.

After spending the last 7 years writing grants for small nonprofits and then helping thousands learn to write successful grants, I have consistently seen and heard the same grant issues persist for nonprofit leaders.

They're tired, burnt out, and nervous when it comes to grants. They know grants can be the key to bringing in consistent and large amounts of revenue, but, frankly, they have no clue how to do it.

What if there were a better way?

If you want to learn to write compelling grants the easy

(and profitable) way, I have something for you . . .

What's Different about Grant Writing Made Easy

Take a moment with me to imagine what more grant funding could do for your work.

Picture being able to serve more people, start new programs, or finally have financial security and the sense of relief that comes with it.

Typically when I have conversations with leaders at small nonprofits, I hear that there’s one thing standing in the way of them achieving their biggest dreams for their organization--funding.

For many, writing grants seems too time consuming and too challenging.

Or maybe they've tried and haven't had the success they hoped for.

I will teach you how to find and apply for grants that are a great fit (in other words, ones that you have a good chance of winning).

  • It gives you both no-fluff instructional videos + the workbooks and templates you need to implement everything we teach you.
  • It helps you get clarity on what's important and how to do everything from simple tasks to complex research and writing
  • It gives you immediate access to the course and all updates to the course content (hello, new free info!).
  • It focuses only on the most actionable, immediate, effective means of getting your grant submitted.
  • It provides a systematic way of getting your work done, actually helping you complete it, so you're not left trying to implement lessons without help.
  • It gives you access to a community of grant writers around the country (and some in other parts of the world), who will support you, answer your questions, and help you with your writing.
  • In addition to the static content on the site, we now host live writing workshops twice a month. One workshop focuses on a specific module of the course, and the second workshop provides assistance to any course member who needs help with their writing. (Yes, we do live reviews and revision during this workshop!)
  • It's designed and taught by an instructor who is a practicing grant writing consultant, holds a Ph.D. in Rhetoric and Writing, and has 6+ years of experience teaching university writing. That's a unique combination of skills and experience that you won't find anywhere else.

Nice to meet you!

I'm Krista, and I can't wait to cheer you on as you write your next grant.

As founder, CEO, and principal grant writer of Krista Kurlinkus, LLC, I have written winning multi-million dollar federal grants; global development grants; state grants; six-figure academic research grants; and corporate, private, and community foundation grants.

After working with nonprofit, government, and academic research clients around the country, I started teaching grant writing online, with the hopes of providing university-level writing education to grant writers and democratizing grant funding for small organizations.

I draw on my expertise as a Ph.D. in Rhetoric, Composition and Literacy Studies and my 6+ years of teaching university writing to provide the best grant writing education on the market.

Is Grant Writing Made Easy for You?

Grant Writing Made Easy is for you if you:

1. You often see grant opportunities that seem like a perfect fit for your work, but can't quite wrap your head around the requirements.

2. You know what you need to say, but don't know how to say it. You end up sitting in front of a blank screen, the blinking cursor counting down the seconds until the grant is due.

3. You're not sure which grants to apply for at all or even how to go about evaluating the likelihood of getting a grant award.

4. You're tired of trying to figure everything out on your own or through grant writing books that speak in generalities and don't actually help you figure out your needs, your particular situation.

5. You want to become a compelling writer, a savvy program designer, an adept budgeter.

6. Put simply, you want to write successful grants.

If any of these sound like you, Grant Writing Made Easy is for you.

Why You Need this Course Now

Don’t let another year go by before you finally learn the art of writing successful grants and start getting the funding you deserve.

If you’ve made it this far, you know you need to learn to write successful grants to fund your work.

You need Grant Writing Made Easy.

I created this course in 2016 and since then I've educated thousands of students in Grant Writing Made Easy and through my other courses and educational materials.

Build a Sustainable and Scalable Grants Strategy

The thing I like about the course is it has a broad reach. If you have a person who has never written a grant before, like the way that you introduce terms, I love the way that you introduced grantors as investors . . . even for someone like myself who has written grants before, there were still insights I felt were really helpful.

Since then, I've written quite a few [grants] in the last several months, all were 5-, 6-digit grants, letters of interest . . . yeah there have been several awards, 60% were in 6-digit categories and the rest were in the 5 figures.

Whether you're new to the grant writing world or you just want to fine tune you existing knowledge, then I would highly recommend the program. One because the curriculum, as I mentioned, it's very organized, it's well written, it's thoughtful, and it's just easy to digest.

And I think making sure that there are communities which you've done through Facebook and then you've graciously offered your own personal time to provide feedback, I think that's incredibly beneficial for someone who maybe has never designed a logic model before or has never seen a strategic plan before or had no idea how to capture data and report it.

-Christine Becker, CEO, Food Scribe Consulting

I will say this: On my own, going through different [grant] forms and things, like how it was before, it was good, but I was missing the key components on how to do that [write grants]. But after going through your training, what it really helped me [with] was . . . I can know a lot quicker, especially for my clients, if this is a good fit for them or not, just based on the grant itself.

I learned grant terminology and then you taught us how to research, you taught us what to research, narrow down your research, and then go from there. I'm a better researcher and better grant writer because of that.

-Brittnei Leon, CEO, Write the Vision Plainly

Before Grant Writing Made Easy, I was pretty successful with grants, but I had been out of touch for over 2 years and felt I needed more training to learn current and trending things needed to be successful again. I want to improve my skillset and be aware of how to put my best forward for the organizations I work for.

The most important lessons I’ve learned from the course are that it's all about telling a compelling story using a mixture of data, evidence based and heart. There is a science and art to grant writing and you need both. I love the monthly writing workshops and having access to the workbooks.

So far I’ve
gotten at least 3 grants--one in-kind and two cash that together are worth $25,000.
If you want to master grant writing, then you need this course. It's the last course you ever have to buy about grant writing.

-Omotola Akinsola, Executive Director, Jumpstart Academy

I actually have a certificate in Fundraising from NYU, but this course is already providing more value than what I got from them... for $3000 a class!

-Ginger Aña Dayla, Founding Artistic Director, New City Stage Company

Before signing up for Grant Writing Made Easy I had written small grants applications. I was awarded only a small amount of what I asked on most of them. I signed up hoping the grant team would learn how to write larger grants that get funded. I have started learning how to do grant research. My favorite thing about the course is the videos and live writing workshops.

Since starting the course, we’ve been awarded two $50,000 grants. I would recommend taking Grant Writing Made Easy to anyone who wants to learn to write grants.

-Peggie Henderson, Executive Director, Family BizBuilder

I’ve written a handful of grants for two nonprofits in my role as a Public Relations Manager and as a PTA president. I’d like to create an arm of my current business as a paid grant writer as well as writing grants in my role as a Managing Director of a local community theatre. I joined Grant Writing Made Easy because I wanted to know where and how to research grant opportunities and how to get an organization grant-ready.

I love Krista’s teachings and the support she provides. This is a very comprehensive course with lots of support and a wonderful network of professionals taking the course. It’s a great working community! It’s a fantastic course, priced very reasonably.

-Tina Games, Grant Writer, Moonlight Muse Media

Before taking Grant Writing Made Easy, I had taken a few courses and written a few grant applications. Grant Writing Made Easy looked very user-friendly and well-organized and seemed to have a great support system. I was hoping to gain practice, insight, and benefit from someone with much experience. Some of the most important lessons I’ve learned in Grant Writing Made Easy are the incorporation of storytelling, lots of common practice, nuts and bolts. I love how accessible the information is—I could go in any order that made sense and it provides searchable resources.

Since starting the course, I’ve completed lots of grants. I started interning with a grant writer at a large nonprofit and am feeling very comfortable with tasks because of knowledge gained from course. Grant Writing Made Easy provides a wealth of knowledge, but also opportunities to apply knowledge, practice skills, and get feedback. It’s expertly organized for students to access to best focus on concepts they need to learn.

-Juli O’Mealey Simmons, Grant Writer, HeartReach Grant Writing

When I first purchased the course I had planned to dive in and become a freelance grant writer as soon as I finished the course. I am grateful that I can do this at my own pace and not stress about the program, plus still view workshops and things along to the way to gain some knowledge and understanding of the terminology used to make me more comfortable when the time does come to step in to the grant writing world.

The course taught me that grants are a lot of work and a lot of reward, and the relationship building is key. Being able to go at my own pace and the fact that they are available to answer odd questions as I go is helpful.

Grant Writing Made Easy is comprehensive and accessible. I wouldn't be able to do it otherwise, and I think I would be greatly missing out on the learning through this course.

-Cathy Reuter, Grant Writer, CLeaRly Creative Grants

I won $660,000 in academic research grants!

While I attend all of my academic institution’s workshops on grant writing, as well as the online trainings from federal organizations, it is hard to synthesize all of these sources’ information to one’s own personal proposal. I highly recommend Krista's course.

Besides getting access to funding sources, it forces you to practice the art of grant writing. I learn best with specific examples, and this is what Grant Writing Made Easy does. I am very grateful for what I’ve learned, and for the personalized feedback and interaction. As an academic, this source has by far been the best means by which I’ve learned to become a better grant writer.

-Dr. Melissa Baralt, Associate Professor, Florida International University

I would say that this is the most thorough class I have taken, that even includes my classes in grad school. The course has information and knowledge useful to a grant writer with any level of experience.

There is a positive atmosphere and the course is set up so you can work at your own pace. The course offers as much or as little help as you individually require. The feedback and follow up is tremendous for an online experience.

I believe this is the best grant writing course I have taken or seen. I think that when I have finished the entire course it will have provided me with the tools to become a better grant writer.

Thank you for making this course available, I am hoping that when I have more experience I can come back and assist others through your platform.

-
Justina Sue Appel, Grant Writing Consultant

I was overwhelmed. I had no idea what a LOI was or why it is important, let alone how to submit a grant. I had written 1 grant prior and I've had 2 major grant wins since. The first grant i submitted was a small grant and I win it at $2,000. Most recently I went after an extremely competitive grant that I won at $97,000.

This course is amazing. It gives you the knowledge you need in a manner that is easy to understand and provides support when you're struggling through the Facebook group.

-Jamie Eckert, Grant Writer, Amos Supportive Housing Association

You will appreciate taking the Grant Writing Made Easy Course. Dr. Kurlinkus is a master of grant writing and storytelling.

Her course introduces you to avenues of information far beyond your current knowledge, and it's easy to understand.

-Cynthia Harvey, Grant Writer, JAC Enterprises

Prior to taking this course, I had participated on a grant team but never written a grant individually. I joined Grant Writing Made Easy hoping to review what I previously learned, see any changes or updates, and I am going to begin a nonprofit that helps folks in Africa, India, etc. that need this information.

I like that the workshops are live, interactive...very similar to an online college class. I posted the free course on FB and with all my private closed groups because everyone should know how to write a grant!

-Melissa Wester, Grant Writer

Krista's counsel is priceless.

The peer feedback in writing exchanges has been exceptional.

I can't stress enough the importance of having a seasoned pro guide your process, plus check your work against proven standards.

-Carolyn Campbell, Grant Writer, City of Immortals Project

Krista is genuinely interested in helping, and has a wealth of knowledge in the area of writing, grant writing, researching, and working from home as a consultant. She shares her knowledge. Some people hold back on sharing for whatever reasons.

This course offers support in all aspects of grant writing--from start to finish. Also, I appreciate the ongoing support, blogs, Zoom meetings, etc. Excellent program to learn about grant writing/researching!

Krista is excellent in what she does and I really appreciate the training and on-going support that she provides.

-Francina Brooks, Owner, F. Brooks Grant Writing & Consulting

Just getting started with GWME, but so far I have learned how much that I don't know!

Extremely comprehensive! Also love the FB entries; workshops where you actually critique student work, and the mentoring options, and peer-to-peer work exchange. Thank you for thinking of all of these options to support your students.

Be prepared to spend time daily to make this work. You have provided the tools; it is up to the students to take advantage of them. The course is definitely worth the money.

-Jan Landrum, Grant Writer, Impacto Ministry -Guatemala

I've written grants for over 20 years with a lot of success.

Grant Writing Made Easy is economical and the training is packed with content that will help both novice and experienced grant writers.

-Jan King Bratcher, Owner, Creative Grant Solutions

I am in love with Grant Writing Made Easy. I love the self-paced curriculum. I am not at the writing level of many of the course's average users but the materials are arranged and explained in such a way that I can see a path to achieving that level of consistency and success in my grant writing.

I have had successes since signing up for the course but I am striving to achieve for our organization a more solid donor base. I have written before but I did not have to be as flexible in my descriptions and the subject matter. Before signing up for Grant Writing Made Easy I had not considered writing as a profession.

Even if you are an excellent writer, Grant Writing Made Easy is still a must-have for your grant writing toolkit.

-Fallon Green, GWME Member

I just love Grant Writing Made Easy! It’s exactly what I needed.

I joined GWME because I’m adding grant writing to my business, and I want to be able to offer the best to my clients. I had written a few before but did not have the resources that your course gave to me. Since becoming a member, I have booked a few more clients and received one grant out of the three written.

One thing I love about the course is that I can access it from anywhere and learn anytime. If you’re considering GWME, I would say to definitely join the course. The resources themselves are worth it alone, but you add in the teaching and it’s a hell of a deal!

-Staci Hoyt, Virtual Assistant

I learned that grant writing is an active process, it is a skill learned by doing so it would be helpful to do this course while going through the process of actually crafting a grant.

I appreciate that the course offers processes and tools to follow, a grant can be written without reinventing the wheel.

I would suggest that if already involved with an organization that provides the opportunity to write grants this is an excellent course to walk through writing and gaining hands-on experience.

The course is very easy to understand and offers great resources that can assist in creating successful grants. I highly recommend it.

-Ruth James, GWME Member

Krista’s teaching style is simple enough for anyone to learn. It is broken down into smaller sections for easier comprehension. She explains everything in great detail and is also very quick to encourage when it can seem overwhelming. But aside from that I have to commend her and Alyssa for their quick and understanding responses to any email or correspondence.

If you have a desire to write grants this is the most affordable  and worthwhile program that you will find out there. It is very clear that Krista not only wants her students to succeed but does everything possible to encourage that success and is available in many different ways to ensure your success in this program.

I’d just like to say how thrilled I am that I was lead to this course instead of so many others I could have spent money on. I feel the value from what I've learned just in the short time I’ve been in the course far exceeds what I’ve spent on it. I am absolutely confident that I will have many successes in my grant writing future because of the knowledge and the simplicity of teaching and the structure in this course.

-Tricia Johnson, GWME Member

Krista breaks it down in a complete step-by-step process, she tells you what you need to have in order to apply; guides you on keeping track of info; she let you know what info you need to help secure grants; and guides you an where to look for grant opportunities.

I was able to successfully get company financial track record streamlined. Knew ahead of renewal time what I was going to need records of.

Successfully got renewal grants awarded, as well as applied and received for 2 other grants on my own. Received almost $70,000 in grants for the year.

Thank you so much for guiding me through a difficult situation and helping me gain confidence to search other opportunities.

-Mandy King, Grant Writer

I had not written any grants before signing up for Grant Writing Made Easy. I was hoping to get some insight into writing successful grants. I wanted to know more about the different pieces of grants so I would be able to prepare myself when it came time to write one.

The critical thinking piece of the lessons—what are the grantmakers really asking with this question—has been most helpful. I've gained more confidence and figured out how to decipher applications.

-Erin, GWME Member

This course will support you in having the mindset of a successful grant writer by being organized, meticulous, and confident.

Before taking this course, I had read several books on grant writing. From my previous experience, I never had the sense that I was prepared to write a grant.

Now, I am clear that I can write a grant and support organizations in having conversations that will bear fruit.

-Cheryl Pearson, GWME Member

Prior to beginning the Grant Writing Made Easy class I solely wrote for and applied for formula-block grants. We received funding every year since my start in 2017. I wanted to be a better grant writer for competition grants, as many organizations reached out to me to apply for grants on their behalf.

I learned a lot more about writing a strategic plan, searching for grants (now a member of Grant Station), and being grant ready. I love the workbooks the most. I applied for and received a $5,000 Target grant on the behalf of a nonprofit organization. I also am currently the grant writer for a major federal grant project.

The course, so far, has built my confidence in grant writing. I’ve really appreciated you for also providing tons of resources and support via the Facebook group.

-Leslie, GWME Member

I had no experience with grants prior to signing up for GWME.

I had no idea even how much work went into them.

I learned how important it is to tell a compelling story throughout the proposal.

This course teaches you everything you need to know about grant writing! It's not only informative, but it provides you with great tools to help you with your grant writing journey!

-Scarlet Jaworski, GWME Member

I didn't even know where to start ...

To be honest, GWME was a way of telling myself "I can do this" - as in, start putting thought into grants and encouraging myself to learn about how to apply for and win them.

The biggest lesson I learned was to have a plan BEFORE applying.

Knowing the strategy and what the goals are is crucial to being successful with a grant app.

-Emily Boyer, GWME Member

Customer Testimonials: As with any business-related program, your results using Grant Writing Made Easy may vary from these customer testimonials. Your results will be based on a variety of variables, including but not limited to your level of effort; strength of your organization's program, research, or artistic production; personal qualities; knowledge; skills; and other factors. Since these factors differ for each individual and organization, we cannot guarantee your success, results, or grant award, nor are we responsible for your success or failure. Grant Writing Made Easy is not a "get rich quick scheme." It takes significant time, effort, and dedication as well as a strong nonprofit or other business organization, if you are writing for an organization. We believe we provide you with a strong set of tools to achieve your desired results, and our students agree.
